Our School Philosophy.
While we train hard like we mean to fight, we are not a fighting gym. Kung fu is an art form first and foremost, and should not be bound up in 3 minute chunks, nor inhibited by rules. All fighting is done without protective gear, however, beginning students will not be engaged in mortal combat. Rather, we build up to fighting, focusing on techniques, working up to partner drills, forms, controlled fighting and finally sparring. In this way, we view martial arts not as a collection of executed techniques, but rather as a canvas, where two painters try and create their own masterpiece.
In order to maintain the virtues of Wu De - respect must be shown at all times in the school.
One should take consideration when preparing to train, since we require practitioners to engage their art seriously.
