Drunken Boxing
Shifu Sami has been studying Drunken Boxing under Shifu Neil Ripski for over 15 years. Drunken Boxing, or Zuì quán (醉拳), is one of the many less-known Chinese styles. It was popularized in the 1970s by Jackie Chan and his Drunken Master films and has continued to delight audiences to this day with its stumbling acrobatics and seemingly drunken movements. It is often considered simply a demonstration style and not a true combative style, however that is far from accurate. Drunken Boxing's rareness and obscurity owes itself to its difficulty. It is a far more demanding and challenging system than many other more popular systems. In addition to great flexibility, sensitivity and strength Drunken Boxing also requires a great deal of internal work (nei gong and qi gong).
